I documented the event with digital stills while my friend Joel videotaped the ceremony. I never set aside time to process the media until now (December 2005). Since the funeral (July 24th, 2003), QuickTime's H.264 codec has become available. I compressed the video with this new codec as much as was reasonable. I decided to leave the video pretty much unedited as it captures the entire ceremony as it unfolded. The video is approximately 52minutes long and well worth watching.
The funeral ceremony was conducted by Rabbi Brian Mayer. Ceremony speakers included Chris Paine, Wally Rippel, Eric Garcetti, Tom Gage, Ed Begley Jr., Ellen Crawford, Alexandra Paul, Alec Brooks, Howard Wilson, Paul MacCready, and Chelsea Sexton.
