Boutique
On Saturday November 18, 2000 I visited the very stylish and newly opened Vespa Boutique located on the north side of Ventura Boulevard close to Woodman Avenue. The Boutique opened on Wednesday November 15, 2000 and it exudes sophisticated Italian decor. It is the first of several Vespa Boutiques that are opening across the USA. Piaggio, the Italian manufacturer of Vespas, stopped selling Vespas in the US in 1980 due to exhaust emission regulations. Now after 20 years of absence they are back with two models, the ET2 50cc and ET4 150cc Scooters. I personally was longing for a model with the authentic left hand operated manual transmission and clutch. These new models are completely automatic which makes obvious sense from a market perspective. It is great to see Vespas being made available in the USA once again.
